Our family recently moved into a new house which had an old Air Conditioning unit which wasn't working at all. This was just as Calgary was starting to hit 30 degree temperatures... We did some research on Heat Pumps and decided that was what we wanted for our home. I reached out to Distinct Heating & Cooling to explore further. Nate came by the house and did a very thorough look over our existing system. He walked us through options we could look at and went over things in detail. He was very up front about the work that would need to be done and the costs. We decided to go with the Heat Pump and put in a new High Efficiency Furnace. Nate was there for day one of the installation and we also had Kristian and Jaden there for the work. It was a two and a half day project and it went very well. Like I read in other reviews, Kristian and Jaden were tidy, friendly and informative with us. They answered any questions that we had and explained all that had been set up once the work was done. The Heat Pump has worked very well and we're absolutely happy to have installed it. It cools the house nicely and works well with our Solar Panels (which power the house). We had a very good experience with Distinct and would absolutely recommend them.

Jordan from Distinct Heating and Cooling provided exceptional service during our annual maintenance visit. He was professional, punctual, and took the time to thoroughly inspect and service our furnace, A/C, and humidifier. He explained everything clearly and made sure everything was running efficiently before he left. It’s always a pleasure to have someone so knowledgeable and courteous in our home. We have 2 furnaces and 2 AC units that were installed by Distinct at least 8 years ago. We have regular maintenance done every year and Jordan provides excellent service and is always on time. We had one minor issue with an AC unit recently and they were able to come out the same day to fix it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Distinct.

Our technician Jordan Dolter arrived at the designated time, had all parts required for the job. Executed job quickly and efficiently. Cleaned up and was on his way. Job well done!

I’m extremely happy with the service provided by Jorden Dolter. He arrived on time for my regular AC tune-up and also resolved an issue with my new Ecobee thermostat, which was having trouble communicating with the HVAC system properly. Jorden took the time to explain how to keep the equipment running efficiently and answered all my questions with patience and clarity. I would love to have him back for future furnace appointments. We just had our central AC installed by Distinct Heating & Cooling, and I must say, I am very pleased and happy with our choice! Nate the owner is very knowledgeable and thorough with us when it came to initial assessment, he spent well over a hour with us and taught us a lot about HVAC maintenance, and when it came to the actual installation, Kristian the lead technician was very professional and he did a great job putting it all together. Once again I’m very happy with the AC unit and would definitely recommend them to anyone that’s looking to get AC installed in Calgary!

We had Aidan from Distinct Heating & Cooling come and do upgrades to our furnace filter box and thermostat. Aidan was detailed and clean. He explained everything well and was willing to thoroughly answer any questions we had.

Ed came out today to do a maintenance service on our AC Unit and furnace. He was awesome, he walked us through what he was doing and gave us hints on how to safe some money but also to keep the air flowing nice in our house.
Erin was also amazing with booking our appointment and getting back to my emails quickly.

I am very anal when it comes to contractors. Being used to German craftsmanship, I have become suspicious of contractors in a boom-town like Calgary.

We hired Distinct Heating and Cooling for the installation of a new furnace, an AC unit, and some minor jobs.

Their service team (Kristian, Jaden) were always on time (on the minute), communicated clearly, were minimally intrusive, performed the installation perfectly, and cleaned up perfectly.

Distinct recently completed a hybrid heating / cooling system in our home (new furnace, central heat pump plus a ductless mini-split). I called three companies when I was looking for information and quotes. Nate was far better informed, more punctual, more thorough etc. etc. than the others. Very easy decision. When it came to the actual installation, Nate was there for day on, Kristian and Jaden for the remaining three days. They all ran an extremely tidy (equals safe) workplace, and were courteous & informative through the whole process. On completion Kristian and Jaden walked us through operation and maintenance. Again, very thorough. Post installation Nate called us, as Kristian indicated he would, to check in and quickly cleared up a couple of questions we'd forgotten to ask. Professional and respectful from end to end. Very highly recommended.

We have been using Distinct since 2020 when we originally had them come up for a warranty repair on a furnace they did not install. Since then we have had them back a few times for additional repairs as well as some new ducts for a renovation we were doing. Everyone from the owner Nate to every tech has been amazing. Aiden recently came out and even waited for me to come home to make sure the job was to my satisfaction.

We really wish we had found this company when we intially installed our furnace and we would have likely avoided a ton of problems from the previous installers. Highly recommend them based on both their professionalism, quality of work and fair pricing!

I was not in a state of panic about my furnace. I had a 25-year-old house with a 25-year-old furnace and wanted to get an upgrade without calling a company at 3 am needing to get the new one in now.
I had information packages from a Home Show a couple of years back and called in 2 companies for a quote.
The first company in did a walk about, asked a few questions and sent me a quote with 3 different options and combinations.
Nate from Distinct showed up; on time - did a walk around, asked many questions, pointed out several issues and problems with my current set up. Nate also explained exactly what they would do, how the job would go, the remedies to the issues he revealed and how York was a quality product with a very good warranty.
Nate then went through the various products they offered – all being the York brand, and explained the differences, and the benefits of each. We spent over one 1.5 hours and only ended because I had an online meeting. Following the meeting, I had a few more phone questions, before I made the choice to go with Distinct.
Two weeks later, Nate, Christian and Jordan completed the set up on the furnace, and did the rough in on the AC. The job took two full days, with dozens of measurements, (more like hundreds) making sure all was level, aligned and was finished to look neat, compact and easy to access for future maintenance. They even made sure that if I (or a future owner) wanted to finish the basement, all the work was done to make the finishing work easier.
During the install, all three who did the work answered all my questions, seemed to actually enjoy working together and were professional, pleasant and most of all - competent.
As an additional comment, Nate went beyond the scope of the normal job and sourced and installed 3 louvered vent covers, which were quite the eye sore. When you get him in for a quote, ask him about my steel roof! Not sure he will ever go up on one in winter ever again!
Summary
Over the last 2-3 months, I have spent a great deal of time researching the various HVAC brands and products available in Calgary.
My choice came down not to the brand, for I feel most of the major brands have good product, but to the quality of the install. That is why I went with Distinct and everything I have experienced so far confirms I made the right choice.

We just had Distinct Heating and Cooling replace our two furnaces and air conditioner in our home in March. They were excellent. The two gentleman who worked on removing the old furnaces and air conditioner, and then replacing with new units were truly remarkable.

They were so thorough and meticulous in their work. It looks amazing in our furnace room. The went above and beyond our expectations. They were here for 3 full days as it was a huge job. They were super neat and tidy each day, cleaning up and putting things aside for the next day. They were organized, worked extremely hard all day and explained what was going on each morning and the progress being made. There was no wasted time, they just got to it and put in long days to get it done.

The work looks amazing. Both furnaces and the new air conditioner are so much more efficient now and we can feel the difference already with the heating system. We look forward to the cooling in the hot summer months. We also like that the new air conditioner is not a big old clunky green unit like we used to have. It's now attached to the side of the house and looks so much better.

We had originally met with the owner when we were getting quotes for this job, and we were impressed by his knowledge of what needed doing, especially as he looked around and found things the previous owner of our home had done in the basement development that needed fixing. He assured us that it would be done right and done well. He was not kidding. We know this system will serve us well for many years to come. We will continue to use Distinct for service moving forward.

We highly recommend them to anyone looking to have work done on their home heating and cooling systems. You simply couldn't find a more professional company, whose owner and staff are wonderful to deal with, who treat your home like it's their own and really care about doing the job to the highest standards.

We have a pretty old furnace that was intermittently failing, but Distinct was able to send Ed over and fix it right up. I was worried with past not-so friendly technicians, but they were great and always kept me notified when they would arrive. The important part was that Ed was willing to listen to my concerns despite the initial fix. He stayed around and diagnosed all other furnace issues to have it running prime until we decide to replace it in the future. Great service and handiwork! Will absolutely recommend them!

Noticed our almost 13 year old A/C unit was short cycling which resulted in high humidity levels in the house. Distinct Heating & Cooling was recommended to us so we contacted them to come and take a look. They sent Jordan over just a few days later for an assessment. Jordan was prompt, friendly and very knowledgeable about what was going on and made a few recommendations for fixing or replacing the unit. We have since met with Nate for replacement options as it made the most financial sense given the age of our current unit. Nate was very professional, and knowledgeable on all things A/C. We loved how detailed their work is, how much pride they take with their customers and installations, and that they employ journeymen mechanics who specialize in this area. I sent a message to Distinct Heating and Cooling threw their website on Sunday and first thing Monday morning Laurie called me, just before she did my furnace stopped working again.
